Curriculum Vitae

Julia Straub has been Professor of Modern English Literature at the University of Fribourg since 2020. She is interested in the relationship between anglophone literatures and other media (especially photography), transatlantic literary studies, the Early American period, Victorian literature and contemporary fiction. Her current research centres on motherhood 21st-century literature.

From 2021 until 2025 she was Director of the Institute of Comparative Literature at the University of Fribourg.
